Low-stress handling does not mean working livestock slow. I call this ‘slow-stressful handling.’

Marketing and Stockmanship Schools in Dickinson, ND

The group shot!

On the Sunday and Monday before the school we visited with Marylu and Henry, two members of North Dakota Badlands Horse. They have a contract with the Theodore Roosevelt National Park to assist with low-stress wild horse gathers and then to sell the horses. They first learned their techniques from Whit Hibbard (buy his Stockmanship Journal with both articles about Richard and I and an article about Whit’s work with the Park horses here), and then attended our Stockmanship School in Dickinson.

After the school, they had some excellent results gathering horses. Read about them on our Facebook page here.
