Special thanks to our “guides” Henry and Marylu of North Dakota Badlands Horse! “Like” their Facebook page to learn more about them. They have some great posts on their page about using low-stress stockmanship to gather horses on the park.
This day has an interesting side story. Last June when we were driving home from our school in Rockglen, SK, we stopped at the park rest area to “rest.” We had never heard of this park before, but were thrilled by its beauty. We made a plan then to come back and spend some time here when we came for our school in August. Back then we didn’t dream we’d get a personalized tour like we did!
Three horses grazing near an old park building.
We saw several mule deer on the drive.
Several photographers got a lot closer to the horses than I did to get their shots.
We noticed this bull bison dusting on the hill above the overlook parking spot and then posing for the tourists!
Here he is zoomed in a little closer. I was NOT this close to him!
The Little Missouri River
Had to include just one photo of the prairie dogs!

It was an honor to show you our beautiful park, Tina and Richard. We loved spending time with you and learning more about stockmanship.
