Here’s Richard and Garland executing a perfect “T” to the gate easily putting the herd through the gate.
And here’s another “T” putting them into the barn lot. They aren’t too fussed up are they?
We had to sort out the animals we didn’t need to weigh from those we did. Richard brought three animals toward the gate, I held back the cow we wanted to weigh . . .
. . . Richard continued with the two to go out . . .
. . . I stopped the cow to stay . . .
. . . and we were done!
On this morning Richard brought in the eight calves we were going to load and sell. I was sitting in the tripod stand filming, and as he brought them to the corral I noticed that my shadow was directly in the gate he easily brought them through into the corral.
We carefully watched the film and saw that none of the calves even noticed the shadow. They aren’t too scared since they are standing in the corral with the gate wide open! Livestock (well, except maybe in Kansas!) live in and out of shadows every day. Some of the shadows even move (tree limbs in the wind), and they still shade up under them when they get hot and protect in them in the winter.
