Low-stress handling does not mean working livestock slow. I call this ‘slow-stressful handling.’

Photos from 777 Buffalo Ranch

We arrived a day early to work and film buffalo in preparation for our school tomorrow.

Mimi Hillenbrand, our hostess on the 777 Ranch, showed us a herd of buffalo cows with small calves (in background)

The cows as we drove up. We stopped to give them time to get up, collect their calves, and begin to move away.

Nice movement!

Then Richard worked a herd of 2 year olds in the large corral. Here he’s getting to know them and letting them get to know him.
