It takes 40 years to learn how to handle cattle, but you can go to Philadelphia and learn to be a lawyer in eight.

We highly recommend anyone interested in learning more about Stockmanship buy at least the first issue of the Stockmanship Journal. We talk about it in our schools and have the link on our “related links” page.

However, somehow (perhaps because we were really busy teaching schools last summer!) I totally forgot to highlight the July, 2015 issue which featured articles by Richard and I! I realized it was missing after I re-formatted out website and updated all the posts!

There are many other great articles beyond ours in this issue including one about the 2015 Society for Range Management session on stockmanship we were a part of (the 2016 meeting is coming up in early February with another day-long session on stockmanship) and an article about using good stockmanship to gather wild horses on the Theodore Roosevelt National Park.
