The key to good decision making is not knowledge. It is understanding. We are swimming in the former. We are desperately lacking in the latter.

Speaking at the Beefmaster Breeders United Convention

We were happy to speak and demonstrate at the Beefmaster Breeders United Convention in Branson, Missouri

As part of our speaking fee, we received a booth where we could visit with attendees and show videos to demonstrate what we do and explain more about low-stress stockmanship. The inside meetings, lunch, and exhibits were in the Radisson Hotel. The demonstration was in the Grand Palace parking lot just across the street. Now Richard and I can say we played the Branson Grand Palace (can’t we?)!

Richard started out the demonstration with about 30 minutes of the value of stockmanship and some simple techniques.

Then he worked the lovely Beefmaster heifers provided by Skelton Farms in Arkansas. The audience asked that he separate off one heifer and drive her away from the group, which was easily done.

After the demonstration we had a lot of visitors to our exhibit wanting more information.

We had all the videos we use in our schools on the laptop and could show clips to help demonstrate something specific or answer a question.

Then, Richard and I were able to join the convention attendees on the Showboat Branson Belle for “dinner and a show!” What great fun. Where else do you get to travel to great destinations, visit with wonderful people, attend special events, and get paid for it?
