Cuba, Missouri Forage & Beef Conference

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I enjoyed speaking at the Forage & Beef Conference in Cuba, Missouri this evening to the largest crowd for us yet. It was great to see faces who have attended other talks, especially there were several people who were at the Houston and Hartville schools. Also nice to hear one fella say he came to the program just to hear me talk!

One Day School in Onaga, KS

Saturday, February 10th, 2007

Tina and I just got back from a lovely trip to Onaga, Kansas presenting a day-long school today. Jay Rezac had called me last fall about doing some sort of stockmanship presentation, and we decided on doing this one day school.

Here’s most of the group at the school. Due to technical difficulties, the group shot didn’t turn out.

Thanks to Darrin for the wonderful lunch.

Special thanks go out to Jay for setting the school up, advertising, and finding sponsors. The school was also a fundraiser for the Onaga FFA Alumni. As a member myself, I was more than glad to help them out.

Here are three of the four sponsors, L-R: Ron Hinrichsen of Intervet, Inc.; Stephen Russell of Schering-Plough; and John Havens of Pfizer Animal Health. Frontier Farm Credit was also a sponsor.

Another Talk and Exhibit

Saturday, February 3rd, 2007

I spoke at the Missouri Young Farmers/Young Farm Wives conference today in Osage Beach, Missouri. Because many Vo-Ag teachers and secondary school adminstrators attend, I had a good chance to visit with people I had worked with when teaching Vo-Ag for 13 years from 1980 to 1993. Tina and I had an exhibit where we showed movies and visited with attendees, and then I gave a talk during a break-out session.
