March 23 and 24 in Canada
Saturday, March 25th, 2006
Tina and I just returned from a speaking tour in Saskatchewan where we presented two full day workshops on Stockmanship, one in Saskatoon and one in Regina sponsored by the Farm Animal Council of Saskatchewan. Because Bud and Eunice Williams had lived in Alberta (next to Saskatchewan) for ten years and put on many workshops there, many of the attendess has also been to a Bud Williams Stockmanship School. It was nice to hear that they felt my presentation was very good even compared with the very best!
We hope to be able to go back to Canada and speak more as they seem very receptive to learning to handle their livestock in low-stress ways. Even the sale barns had representatives there to learn how they could run their sales in a lower stress way! I wish U.S. stockyards would begin to care as much.
Other sponsors of the events included:
Heartland Livestock Services
Pound-Maker Agventures Ltd.
Saskatchewan Cattle Feeders Association
Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food
Saskatchewan Pastures Program
The Western Producer
